At Galtee Honey Farm, we use only 100% Irish beeswax from our bees, in our candles – no artificial waxes or chemicals. They are made by hand in small batches.

Beeswax carries antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that are essential in fighting chapped skin. It forms a protective wall by sealing in moisture in our skin. We combine beeswax with only natural ingredients to make moisturising skin & lip balms.

Beeswax comes out of the honey bee’s body, from glands on the underside of the abdomen. Beeswax candles are the oldest candles known to man and prized since ancient times. It burns very clean with little smoke when trimmed properly as they are not oil-based. 100% beeswax candles are natural, undergo no chemical processing, are biodegradable, carbon neutral, non toxic and eco-friendly.

They are naturally scented by the honey and floral nectar in the honeycomb. Beeswax costs more than paraffin wax but it has a high melting point which results in a longer burn time.

Beeswax candles burn stronger and brighter than paraffin wax candles. They emit a naturally bright light of the same light spectrum as the sun. They are the only candles that emit negative ions to purify, improve air quality, and invigorate the body. Beeswax candles are hypo-allergenic, benefiting those with environmental allergies, sensitivities, and asthma.
