Our Beeswax
Irish, eco-friendly, sustainable
Our BEESWax
At Galtee Honey Farm, we use only pure Irish beeswax from our own hives. Every candle is handcrafted in small batches using 100% natural beeswax—no artificial waxes, no chemicals, just what the bees provide.
Beeswax is a remarkable natural material. It carries antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties, making it a gentle and effective ingredient for protecting and soothing dry or chapped skin. We blend it with carefully chosen natural oils to create our moisturising lip and skin balms—simple, nourishing, and kind to the skin.
Beeswax is produced by honey bees through tiny glands on their abdomen. It’s an ancient material, used for centuries to make some of the world’s earliest candles. Unlike oil-based alternatives, beeswax burns cleanly with very little smoke when the wick is trimmed properly. It’s biodegradable, non-toxic, carbon neutral, and eco-friendly.
With a high melting point, our beeswax burn longer than paraffin wax candles—and much brighter. In fact, they emit a warm, naturally golden light in the same spectrum as sunlight.
What makes beeswax candles even more special is their ability to release negative ions when burned. These ions help purify the air, reducing allergens and dust, and may benefit those with asthma, sensitivities, or allergies. Beeswax candles are hypoallergenic, natural air purifiers that bring a calm, clean glow into any space.
